In this video attorney Francis Jackson of the law firm of Jackson & MacNichol conducts a live Q & A session on Social Security Disability Training and answers the question: If you have a child who is deemed disabled and needs special medication or services, if the parent has no work history, can the parent collect SSD for the child? No, children can only get paid one of two ways: they have to get paid on the account of a parent or if the child is disabled, then they can get SSI and those benefits are supposed to be put into a dedicated account to pay for the kinds of services they need.
